My tallest sunflower is a skinny specimen that defied the odds and healed itself after it severed it's neck on the summer house guttering. The official height was recorded as 8ft 2 inches (249cm). Not as high as any of the Laggan sunflowers but not too shabby at all!!

Good effort!
The measurement of the Greendykes sunflowers took place today with the help of my camera shy assistants.

That's pretty amazing that it survived a severe!! What a star!!! And it looks so tall... mind you, there is a wee elf in the photo..... but still much higher than that roof! Are you sure the measurements are accurate? Surely a couple of feet shoul dbe added??!!
ReplyDeleteI'm standing on top of the table that's built into the garden bench... so I'm 3 feet higher off the ground than normal! (I think the slight terror is evident in my face.)
